Letters, letters. letters.... (Lady Montagu and Burney)

In my opinion, what both Montagu and Burney achieved in their letters was more than just the portrayal of the "characters" or people involved in the letters, as physical beings; they tried to describe in detail characterics that are more than just physical. They both described actions and attitudes that they either compliment or discourage. Montagu gave a detailed description of the women (or men) she was describing as her letters developed. Both Burney and Montagu have a "feminist" point of view. For example, in Burney's letter, when she prefers to denominate "nobody" (who was going to be the recipient of her letter) as a female. In Montagu's letters, she gives malice, envy, and other negative attitudes a male gender.
